Your Staff members are the heart of your business.  It takes a Good TEAM to operate a restaurant the right way.  Take care of your heart; it will take care of you.

 

 

Time - ​Time is Money - do things the right way.  Take time to come up with a well thought-out system to prepare for work modes that fluctuate from slow to fast.  Continually train your staff to improve efficiency of products and services.  This avoids chaos and an overwhelmed staff when the mode changes.  Your customers will be at ease if they are always serviced properly.

 

Energy - Work with People and Motivate Them.  Staff and Customers - Communication, like exercise, can be work to many restaurateurs.  A little work as an owner gives a great return on your investment.  This business is a people pleasing business.  Energize your staff, praise them for good work.  Let them know that each member is an important part of your business.   Encourage their contribution by offering fun contests and rewards.  You will gain loyal staff members that work hard to make the happy customers.  Always consider better ways to make things easy for both staff and customers.  

One of the reasons tourists love New Orleans is because we understand the word "Lagniappe".  A Little extra service and attention makes people feel special and appreciated.  That feeling makes the food and ambiance more outstanding. 

 

Attitude - Good communication and expectations.  Don't assume the team understands you and your business goals.  Keep good communication with all of your team members.  They need to have a clear understanding of your expectations of their work.  They will keep a good attitude and want to help you achieve your goals of the business.  

 

Money - Money is green.  Good restaurants conserved before it was cool.  Get your team to help conserve on all of the restaurant waste:  utility costs, food spoilage, giving too much product such as salad dressing or condiments, over using of clean products and paper goods, ... I bet you can add to this list.  

 

Take care of your heart; your TEAM will make your restaurant profitable and successful.
